Sergi Roberto faces a battle to be ready for the Champions League clash on October 19.
FC Barcelona are sweating on the fitness of defender Sergi Roberto ahead of next week’s UEFA Champions League showdown with Manchester City.
FourFourTwo report that the right-back is a doubt for next Wednesday night’s meeting at the Nou Camp.
The 24 year-old Spanish international missed La Roja’s 2-0 win versus Albania on Sunday, after sustaining an injury in training.
Following Dani Alves‘ move to Juventus during the summer, Roberto has been a regular fixture in Luis Enrique’s team, as Barcelona seek to replace the Brazilian with minimum fuss.

The Reus-born defender has contributed four assists in eight starts this term, including two in both the 6-2 win during La Blaugrana’s opening game versus Real Betis and the 5-0 victory over Sporting Gijón in Asturias.
The news comes as a potential double blow for the La Liga side following the news Jasper Cillessen is expected to miss the next three weeks.
The Netherlands stopper injured his knee – also in training – on Saturday, just 48 hours before their game versus France in Paris.
The results of Monday’s scan revealed the 27-year-old had sprained ligaments in his right ankle, ruling him out for action until November.
Jasper Cillessen has played just once for FC Barcelona since his move from Ajax
Cillessen’s only appearance since making the switch from Ajax in August, was during Barcelona’s shock 1-2 defeat against newly promoted Alavés.
Whilst behind Marc-André ter Stegen in the pecking order, Cillessen’s injury will be a concern for the Spaniards.
Should Sergi Roberto not recover in time, Luis Enrique could call upon Rafinha or give a rare outing to Aleix Vidal, following his move from Sevilla in January.
