Barcelona are chasing a January deal for Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech, with a loan deal being pursued by boss Xavi.
That’s according to Catalan newspaper SPORT, who claim that Barca are desperate to add new faces in January.
Barca have liked Ziyech for a while having enquired into signing him during his time at Ajax.
It’s suggested that Chelsea would be open to letting Ziyech leave on loan with a non-compulsory purchase option.
Ziyech allegedly earns €7million-a-year at Chelsea – around £113,000-a-week. That could be a problem for Barca given their financial issues.
Borussia Dortmund are thought to have made an offer, but Ziyech is waiting for Barca to make a bid of their own.
Ziyech has been in and around Thomas Tuchel’s starting XI of late, but mostly because of issues for Mason Mount, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

The 28-year-old has only managed 182 minutes of Premier League action and hasn’t lived up to his billing at Stamford Bridge since arriving in a £36million deal.
Ziyech may well move on in 2022, and he could end up finding a familiar face at Barcelona.
ESPN claim that Xavi wants to bring Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta to Barcelona too, with a potential double raid in mind for the Catalan giants.
