Barcelona play host to Liverpool in the Champions League tomorrow.
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde spoke to reporters today, ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Liverpool tomorrow night, and raved about Jurgen Klopp’s side’s quality, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
Barca have already won La Liga, whilst the Reds sit in second spot in the Premier League table, one point adrift of league leaders Manchester City.
Tomorrow’s clash at the Camp Nou will undoubtedly be a real spectacle, with both sides playing some of the best football in Europe.
Liverpool will have to be on their best form if they are to take a positive result away with them from Barcelona.
Valverde is well aware of the quality that the Merseyside outfit possess, however, telling reporters that the fact that they’ve lost just one Premier League game this season highlights just how strong they are, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:
“They play with a level of pressure, rhythm and pace which is very high. It was the same idea Klopp had in Dortmund and he’s been able to transfer that to Liverpool. They have only lost one game in the Premier League and that says a lot about our rival.”
Liverpool play with a certain type of pace and tempo that could certainly trouble Barca, and if they impose themselves on the game early on, they will have every chance of beating the Spanish giants.
