Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi may not have marked his EFL Cup debut with a goal against Leicester City on Tuesday night, but he’s still proving a hit on Twitter with his club’s fans.

The 22-year-old put in a lively performance for Antonio Conte’s side as they recovered from a two goal deficit to defeat the Premier League champions 4-2 at the King Power Stadium thanks to Cesc Fabregas’ extra-time brace.

Batshuayi thumped home a stunning finish from an offside position before being denied by a flying save by Foxes’ keeper Ron-Robert Zieler in the second half to cap a night of frustration in front of goal for the Belgian international.

While ruing his inability to enhance an impressive start to life in English football, the former Marseille forward marvelled at Zieler’s fingertip stop on his official Twitter account.

Tuesday’s thrilling cup tie was also notable for Nathaniel Chalobah’s long awaited Chelsea debut after six different loan spells in the last four seasons.
