Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Hillsborough Stadium on Sunday evening, hosts Wednesday had 52% of the possession, took 17 shots of which six were on target, and earned 12 corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Villa had 48% of the possession, took 12 shots of which only two were on target, and earned nine corners, according to BBC Sport.
Wednesday will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Cambridge United in the first round of the EFL Cup.
