Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has revealed to the club’s official podcast that Andrea Radrizzani messaged him following their victory over Manchester City.
Leeds beat City 2-1 at the weekend, but Bamford may feel that he didn’t play too big a role in the victory.
Bamford was the man was who sacrificed after Liam Cooper got sent off, with Marcelo Bielsa needing to bring another defender on.
And the striker revealed that Radrizzani was quick to message him after the game.
“I actually got a message from Andrea, saying ‘thank you, you sacrificed yourself for the team, well done’,” the striker said.
Bamford did claim an assist for Stuart Dallas’ first goal, so he did at least play some part in the victory.

The Leeds striker has now been taken off in their last two matches though, and he spoke about his frustrations at having to sit on the bench after the hour mark against Sheffield United last week.
Bamford will, at least, surely start again on Monday – when Leeds take on Liverpool.
And he can hardly argue that Bielsa’s decision wasn’t the correct one, given the Whites’ success against City.
