Patrick Bamford told Saturday Social on Sky Sports that Leeds United winger, Ian Poveda, was ‘outpaced by Delph’ this season.

The game Bamford is making reference to is Leeds’ 1-0 against Everton earlier on in the campaign when both the above players came off the bench.

It didn’t take long for Delph, a former Leeds academy product, to outpace Poveda because the Whites man was only on the pitch for five minutes.

But when Bamford was asked who the slowest player at Leeds is, the striker opted to put Poveda’s name forward.

“I think Poveda got outpaced by Delph, who must be getting late 30’s now,” said Bamford.

“He got outpaced by him earlier on in the season and he’s not lived it down, so I am going to say, Poveda.”

It’s perhaps not the best tag to be given from your teammates – the slowest player in the team – but that’s something Poveda has to live with.

And especially for an attacker, who are known to have bursts of pace, it also isn’t helpful.

But Poveda will be glad – on FIFA 21 – he isn’t the slowest player because that falls to Liam Cooper.
