Kylian Mbappe is one of the best players in the world, and there is no surprise that Liverpool have been linked with the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
According to Le10 Sport, Liverpool are interested in signing Mbappe from PSG, with manager Jurgen Klopp reported to be in contact with the forward’s father.
Klopp himself recently raved about the France international, telling beIN SPORTS that the youngster has “has the biggest future” among the new generation of footballers coming through.
Mbappe’s PSG teammate and former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has raved about the 21-year-old, claiming that he could win the Ballon d’Or in the coming years.
Herrera said about Mbappe on ESPN FC, as transcribed by Goal.com: “To be honest, what I can say about Kylian is that sometimes in training it looks like he’s training with kids.
“The way he runs, he just leaves you behind. It looks like we are kids and he’s Usain Bolt!
“In football, you often see very quick players who leave players behind. But with Kylian, when he gets through on goal, he has the capacity to stop, be calm and to score a lot of goals.
“And that is not easy, to find the balance between the speed, strength and calmness. That’s why I think by 2025 he will be one of the contenders for the Ballon d’Or or even the champion.”
Liverpool transfer in the future?
Given the economic uncertainty in the world of football caused by the global health crisis, it is very likely that Liverpool will be willing to – or even able to – spend a huge transfer fee to sign Mbappe this summer.
Moreover, PSG are unlikely to sell arguably their biggest asset anytime soon, but in the coming years, the Reds could tempt the forward into switching clubs.
