
West Brom fans must be sick of the sight of Anwar El Ghazi after the Aston Villa winger netted yet again against the Baggies on Sunday.
It was late heartbreak for Sam Allardyce’s side as Keinan Davis popped up to score his first Premier League goal, as both Villa and West Brom shared the spoils in what was an entertaining 2-2 affair in B6.
El Ghazi went into yesterday’s game bang out of form, but West Brom were his saviours as they allowed him to get out of his recent rut.
This time he didn’t score from open play, but he did dispatch the opening goal of the game from the penalty spot after Ross Barkley was fouled.
From Villa’s perspective, El Ghazi was a nuisance throughout, always looking to get on the front foot and attack West Brom’s penalty area.
That was acknowledged by West Brom supporters, who now need some of the magic that Villa conjured up last season to stay in England’s top-flight.
With four games to go last season, Villa were seven points behind, and they managed to stay up, so there is always hope.
