Steven Gerrard has labelled the currently injured Boubacar Kamara a ‘baller’ on Instagram after his sacking from Aston Villa.

On Thursday night, Villa sacked the legendary Liverpool midfielder from his managerial post in a brutal fashion because he was shown the door just an hour after the full-time whistle blew at Craven Cottage.

Villa’s quite embarrassing and humbling defeat to newly-promoted Fulham was the last nail in the coffin for Gerrard, who will now be licking his wounds.

The Villa players, as well as Gerrard himself, would still have been on the team bus when his departure would have been announced, so that journey back to the Midlands wouldn’t have been an easy one.

Either way, after he left, several players thanked their former boss for what he had done, including Kamara, who was brought in by Gerrard in the summer, simply posting ‘Thank You’.

In the comments section of Kamara’s post, Gerrard replied with the word ‘baller’ to the rising France international.

KAMARA IS A BIG MISS FOR VILLA

The 22-year-old’s injury against Southampton last month wasn’t helpful to anyone’s cause, no more so than Gerrard himself.

It could be argued that Kamara, who joined on a free transfer from Marseille, was perhaps Villa’s best player at the time of his knee injury.

Added to Diego Carlos’s absence, the Midlands side have lost two key summer signings who were supposed to take their defence to the next level this season.

Well, when the next manager arrives, he will be tasked with that assignment, with the hope that Kamara will be back in action when players return from the 2022 World Cup in December.
