Rangers’ B team once again recorded a massive win in the Lowland League as the Young Gers demolished Edinburgh University 8-2, with Tony Weston bagging a hat-trick.

The Liverpool-born striker was one of two players to score a triple on the day, with Charlie McCann nabbing a hat-trick in what was a massive win for Rangers’ U-23 side. Yet it was Weston who fans were raving about on social media.

The former Blackpool academy talent has been one of Rangers’ most exciting players at youth level this season, with Weston now on 19 goals overall for the season, four of which have come in the UEFA Youth League.

Whilst the 18-year-old is yet to feature for the senior squad, it will likely be no time at all before Giovanni van Bronckhorst calls up Weston for the Rangers first-team given the form the teenager is in.

Rangers have a proud history of bringing through players from the youth academy into the first-team, and the way things are going for Weston, the striker will be the next name off the production line.

The youngster has been in incredible form since Rangers won the decision to play in the Lowland League, with Weston one of the B side’s best players this season. And fans on social media are buzzing to see the teenager bagging a hat-trick this weekend.

At just 18, Weston has some time to go before he will play for the senior Rangers side. However, with the form the striker is in, he could be making his debut at Ibrox sooner than most people think.
