Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale’s comments about his time at Spurs last season.
What’s the story?
Bale returned to Tottenham from Spanish and European giants Madrid last summer.
The 32-year-old Wales international winger, who has won the La Liga title twice and the Champions League on four occasions with Madrid, joined Spurs on a season-long loan deal.
Bale did not have the best of times at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as the winger did not always play under then head coach Jose Mourinho.
The winger made 10 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League.
Bale scored 11 goals and gave two assists in those games.
The Madrid star also scored three goals and provided one assist in seven Europa League starts for Spurs last season.
Bale is now back at Madrid.

What Gareth Bale has said
Football.London quoted Bale as saying yesterday: “I think it’s always good to be in a good environment. That’s the biggest reason I went to Tottenham as I knew it would be a good environment for me.
“It was a break that maybe I needed at the time, and I had a great time at Tottenham.
“It definitely helped me mentally be back in a happier place and I think that showed again coming back with Wales in the Euros, and then I’ve brought that into Real Madrid this season, where there’s obviously a better environment for myself anyway.”

What are Tottenham Hotspur fans saying?
As you can from the tweets below, some Tottenham fans have reacted to Bale’s comments.
While some Spurs supporters would love to see Bale return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a free agent next summer when his current contract at Madrid runs out, a few are not pleased with his comments.
