Real Madrid have been linked with Mohamed Salah of Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has told Sky Sports that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is not a target for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Salah is one of the best players in the Premier League and has been superb form for Liverpool this season.

The Egypt international winger has been linked with a move to Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Former Egypt international striker Mido was quoted as saying by Kingfut.com in April that the European giants want to sign Salah (click here to read more), while Don Balon claimed last month that Los Blancos are ready to include Isco in the deal for the former Chelsea winger (click here to read more).

Balague, though, has stated that Salah is not a summer transfer target for Madrid for the time being.

Balague told Sky Sports during a Q&A session: “Obviously it’s not Real Madrid unsettling or trying to unsettle a player, it’s the media.

“But it’s clear that if Salah does guide Liverpool to Champions League glory, and does well at the World Cup, then Real Madrid will make the steps to go for him.

“But at this moment in time, right now, he is not a target, and Jurgen Klopp and Salah have made it clear that staying at Anfield will be the best choice for him. Having said that, football change in an instant.”

Encouraging for Liverpool fans

Liverpool may be having a very good season and could win the Champions League, but Madrid are arguably the biggest club in the world and a dream for most, if not all, footballers.

If Madrid come calling, then it would be hard for Salah to turn them down, but Balague’s comments should encourage Liverpool fans, as it seems that Los Blancos are not looking at him at the moment.
