Spanish football expert Guillem Balague took to Twitter today to explain the current situation surrounding Cesc Fabregas’ transfer from Barcelona
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has revealed that Cesc Fabregas has been told to look for a new club and will be available for €35 million.
The journalist also explained that Arsenal are not interested in bringing Fabregas back to the Emirates, despite rumours to the contrary, and that the 27-year-old has already been informed on this decision.
It leaves Fabregas in a strange position heading into the World Cup, but he is determined not to rush into a move and will carefully consider his next club before signing for them.
Two clubs who are linked with the Spanish midfielder are the Premier League duo of Manchester United and Chelsea.
It was thought that Chelsea had jumped ahead in the race to sign Fabregas, with some reports even suggesting that the deal to bring him to Stamford Bridge was nearly complete, but Balague has confirmed that there is no truth in these rumours.
It means that United’s pursuit of Fabregas has been given new hope. The Manchester giants have been linked with making a move for the Barcelona midfielder for a sizable amount of time and it appears that this summer will be the best chance they will have to capture him.
If they do sign him it may result in them missing out on one of their other targets, though. Barcelona are only keen to sell Fabregas as they want to make a move for Atletico Madrid star Koke, who has been a pivotal figure in Diego Simeone’s side’s success this season.
Koke has previously been the subject of interest from United, but looks set to end up at the Nou Camp as Fabregas’ replacement.
