The Atletico Madrid striker continues to be linked with Manchester United.

Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has taken to Twitter to give an update on the situation surrounding Antoine Griezmann’s potential move to Manchester United this summer.
The Atletico Madrid striker is said to be high on United manager Jose Mourinho’s wish list as he bids to add more fire-power to his Europa League-winning squad.
However, the French international will not come cheap, with United allegedly willing to pay his £87.3million release clause.

Balague went on to confirm that United would not have to pay any tax on top of that already astronomical amount but that the player himself had not yet asked to leave the club.
It remains to be seen if things will change in the coming days, especially now that Atletico’s transfer ban has been upheld.
That means the La Liga club are unable to strengthen their squad this summer, and will not want to significantly weaken their team by selling Griezmann only to have the money burning a hole in their pocket.

United were reliant on Zlatan Ibrahimovic for their goals this season and the Swede duly repaid them prior to his season-ending injury.
However, with the 35-year-old’s one-year contract coming to an end this month it seems United are looking elsewhere for striking options.
