Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has compared Sandro Ramirez’s current situation at Everton to that of Iago Aspas at Liverpool a few years ago on Skysports.com.

Sandro joined Premier League side Everton from Spanish club Malaga in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £5.3 million.

The 22-year-old forward has struggled to make an impact at Goodison Park so far this season and is struggling for playing time at the Toffees at the moment.

Aspas was on the books of Liverpool from 2013 until 2015, but the 30-year-old Spanish striker failed to do much of note during his time at Anfield.

The Spain international striker also spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Sevilla from Liverpool.

As reported by BBC Sport, Liverpool paid Celta Vigo a transfer fee of £7m in the summer of 2013 in order to secure the services of the 30-year-old.

Aspas is now back at Celta and is playing well for the Spanish club at the moment.

When asked if he sees Sandro back in La Liga this month, Balague wrote on Skysports.com: “I am very disappointing that he hasn’t overcome the situation at Everton, but also that he wasn’t given a proper chance.

“There is a player there, and it’s like Iago Aspas at Liverpool, who was not seen early on and looked after properly in terms of how to deal with him, so they lost a player who is now shining in La Liga again. It’s the same with Sandro.”
