Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is facing a one-match ban after being sent off at the weekend.

Amongst the reasons for disappointment for Leeds following their 1-0 defeat at the weekend was the fact that Kiko Casilla is now set to be suspended for the clash with Millwall after the international break after being sent off in stoppage-time.

Casilla has arguably been an excellent addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s side. His composure on the ball and some of his shot-stopping has been outstanding and he had kept three clean sheets in a row before Sheffield United’s win at the weekend.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that he is set to be suspended for one game after bringing down Billy Sharp on Saturday. And that surely means that Bailey Peacock-Farrell is set to get another chance to play between the sticks.

Peacock-Farrell spent the first-half of the campaign as Leeds’ number one. But the Whites’ lack of depth and Peacock-Farrell’s mixed form prompted Bielsa to go and get Casilla when the January window opened.

And while it is more than likely that the Spaniard will return for the trip to Birmingham City one week later, perhaps there is an outside chance that the Northern Ireland international can cause a bit of a surprise.

Bielsa has rarely made changes to his lineups unless injuries or suspensions force his hand. He has stayed incredibly loyal to those who have the shirt at that particular moment, and that has meant some somewhat surprising selection decisions regarding the likes of Pontus Jansson, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford along the way this term.

Peacock-Farrell is going to have to do a lot in one game to keep his spot. But Bielsa’s decisions throughout the campaign hint that he will be open-minded should the youngster manage to stake a claim to stay in the team.

Leeds will be hoping that they play well enough to ensure that Peacock-Farrell enjoys the quietest afternoon possible against Millwall. But there is definitely an opportunity there for the stopper to prove a point ahead of a crucial run of games.
