Leeds United have received a boost with the news that Bailey Peacock-Farrell has signed a new contract.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell has commented on Twitter after Leeds confirmed on their official website that the young goalkeeper has signed a new three-year deal at Elland Road – while the Whites supporters have also been reacting to the news.

Peacock-Farrell is one of the brightest prospects coming through at the club currently, making his first-team debut during Steve Evans’ tenure.

However, he went from being second choice under Evans to falling slightly further down the pecking order under Garry Monk due to the arrival of Rob Green, to now potentially being deemed to be fourth-choice with Felix Wiedwald being signed during this window.

But before the supporters begin to doubt whether Leeds have included the 20-year-old in their long-term plans, the club have alleviated those concerns by confirming on their official website that they have handed the academy graduate a deal that is set to keep him at Elland Road until the end of the 2020 season.

Following the announcement, Peacock-Farrell sent out a simple message on Twitter expressing his delight at agreeing the new contract.

Unsurprisingly, the news has been met with an overwhelmingly positive reaction on social media, with many supporters praising the club for getting the deal done, while others have urged Leeds to sanction a loan deal that would allow Peacock-Farrell to get some first-team football under his belt.
