New Aston Villa signing Leon Bailey has revealed that his preferred attacking position is out on the right-wing.
Bailey was unveiled as a new Villa Park player this week. And speaking in an interview to the club’s official website, the Jamaican international said that the right is where likes to play most.
Bailey usually played that position whilst with Bayer Leverkusen. However, like most wingers in this era of football,
Bailey can and has played on both the left and the right. The attacker has also been used as a striker for both club and country. And this versatility could be a useful asset to Villa for next season.
Bailey said when asked about what he believes is his best position is: “Left or right-wing. But my preferred position is right-wing. I can also play striker as well, I’m very flexible.”
Indeed, this revelation will be music to Dean Smith’s ears with the new season set to kick off soon.

With Emi Buendia and Jack Grealish also versatile attackers in their own right, there is a lot of potential for what Villa can utilise next campaign.
Moreover, Bailey’s pace will make him a menace in the Premier League. The winger, who joined for £30m according to the Daily Mail, will no doubt be instructed to use his athleticism to cause problems for opponents.
And if Villa can retain Grealish for one more season, the Midlands club could have a year to remember in the Premier League.
