Ex-Italy international Salvatore Bagni claims that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has the potential to be ‘much better’ than Gareth Bale.
Former Italy international and media pundit Salvatore Bagni has declared that Juventus ace Paul Pogba can outdo Real Madrid record breaker Gareth Bale.
Midfield star Pogba has been superb in Serie A this season and is a key man in Juventus’ title bid.
The 20-year-old’s form has reportedly caught the attention of Manchester City, Arsenal and former club Manchester United but has insisted that he is happy in Turin.
While it is a given that Pogba has a bright future, there are varying opinions about exactly how good the French international can be, but former Inter and Napoli man Bagni has no doubts.
“Last summer there was a lot of talk about the money that Real Madrid spent on Bale,” he told Calcissimo.com. “But Pogba potentially can be a much better player than the Welshman.
“It’s difficult to put a value on him today. Juve got him on a free transfer from Manchester United but I think that for several years he has been easily worth £40m.”
Bagni also agreed with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola’s assessment of his client’s ability relative to others.
“He is the best player in his position at his age,” he said. “He has it all – he is mature, technically and physically strong. I don’t see weaknesses. Plus he’s humble and works for his teammates.”
