Leeds United continue to be linked with Baghdad Bounedjah.

Leeds United were strongly linked with a move for Al Sadd hitman Baghdad Bounedjah over the summer – and it’s a link that isn’t going away.
Bounedjah may not be a household name to many fans in England, but he has become an absolute sensation over in Qatar.
The Algerian striker, 27, has scored a staggering 98 goals in just 76 games for Al Sadd, including 26 goals in 13 games this season.
Bounedjah has also hit seven goals in 17 games for Algeria, and after Leeds seemingly backed away from him over the summer, they are being linked once again.
Algerian newspaper Le Buteur recently claimed that Leeds are ready to come back with a new bid for Bounedjah in 2019, having been hugely impressed with his record this season; who wouldn’t be?
France Football note that Bounedjah is a target for Marseille, Marcelo Bielsa’s former club, and also carry quotes from him about his future.

Bounedjah is quoted as saying that he will only leave Qatar if a European club that he perceives to be bigger than Al Sadd want him, noting that he won’t join an ‘average club’.
“If an offer from a European club better than Al Sadd comes to me then I’ll go, but if it’s an average club that asks me then I’ll stay in Qatar,” said the striker.
Few would call Leeds ‘average’ in terms of size, stature or even on-field performances this season, but whether a move to the Championship – even if it’s only for a few months as Leeds chase promotion – fits into what Bounedjah wants remains to be seen.
