The man behind the Baggie Bird costume has shared Darren Moore’s message ahead West Bromwich Albion’s visit of Swansea City.

Moore was sacked after Saturday’s home draw with bottom club Ipswich Town, despite leading Albion to fourth in the Championship – the highest position of all three of last season’s relegated sides.

The 44-year-old had previously come close to pulling off a great escape as West Brom caretaker, and his departure has understandably caused some dismay within the Baggies support base.

But according to Dave Challoner (AKA Baggie Bird), Moore has today urged the Hawthorns faithful to get behind his temporary successor, James Shan.

Challoner posted the following message on Twitter earlier.

It read:

11 places separate West Brom and Swansea, the next best placed of the teams that came down last season, with the last of those, Stoke City, one below even them.

Who do you want as West Brom’s next manager?
