Arsenal fans do not appear at all keen on the idea of swapping Matteo Guendouzi and cash for Houssem Aouar.
RMC Sport have now claimed that Arsenal made an offer worth around £31 million and Guendouzi for Aouar earlier this summer, as further details over the potential transfer came to light.
Arsenal appear to have made Aouar one of their very top targets to sign, as they look to improve the quality of their first-team squad.
However, some Arsenal fans feel that they may be overvaluing the Lyon midfielder.
And they are baffled why they were putting what they view as such a good deal on the table for Aouar.
Lyon obviously didn’t believe the deal was quite as good as some Arsenal supporters, as they rejected it swiftly.
Arsenal now may have to up their offer for Aouar, if they are to get hold of the Frenchman this summer.
If Aouar was brought to Arsenal he could complete their midfield alongside Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos, with Mikel Arteta thought to be looking to play a 4-3-3 system next season, according to the London Evening Standard.
