Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing the Stoke City man.

According to Turkish media out Fanatik, Newcastle are interested in signing Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye this summer, and his performances for Senegal at the World Cup in Russia have shown what a superb asset he could be for the Toon next season.

The 27-year-old joined Stoke from Galatasaray in January this year, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £14 million, but following the Potters’ relegation from the Premier League last season, the midfielder is now expected to leave the BET365 Stadium.

Fanatik claim that Ndiaye is available for around €25 million (£22 million) this summer, and that would represent excellent business for Newcastle in today’s day and age.

The midfielder has absolutely run the show for Senegal at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, and has arguably been their most important player during their opening two group games against Poland and Japan.

He possesses energy in abundance, and his box-to-box nature would offer Rafa Benitez something entirely different to what he currently has at his disposal at St James’ Park.

Ndiaye offers his team cover at the back, as well as being a real threat in the final third, so Rafa would be getting two players rolled into one, if he does in fact manage to bring the Senegalese ace to Tyneside this summer.

Newcastle will not have things all their own way in the chase for the 27-year-old, however, with Wolves and his former club Galatasaray both thought to be interested in signing him too.
