Jose Enrique has joked on Twitter that Liverpool’s 9-0 victory on Saturday will hinder Jurgen Klopp’s attempts to sign a midfielder.
The Reds hammered Bournemouth at Anfield yesterday for a record-equalling Premier League victory.
Interestingly, members of Fenway Sports Group – including John Henry – were in attendance to watch the Liverpool demolition in the flesh.
Prior to kickoff, Klopp admitted via a press conference that he needed to sign a midfielder during the final week of the transfer window.
And Enrique has quipped that because of how devastating Liverpool were in front of their money men, no funds will be made available for an addition.

All joking aside, you would hope that FSG understand the context of this victory and that it doesn’t change anything from Liverpool’s perspective.
They still absolutely need another midfielder because Scott Parker’s side are going to be the Premier League whipping boys this season, with Manchester City and Arsenal already sticking a combined seven goals past them in recent weeks.
So although scoring nine against them is impressive, it provides a false account of just how good Liverpool are.
The Reds are obviously a brilliant football team, but they aren’t playing the Cherries every single week unfortunately and their lack of midfield options has already contributed to them dropping seven points from their first three Premier League outings.
With the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Ruben Neves linked, it could be an exciting last five days of the window for supporters of the Merseyside outfit.
Even if neither of those come in, FSG do need to ensure at least one midfielder is added.
