The West Ham star has admitted a desire to return to Marseille.
West Ham face a battle keeping hold of Dimitri Payet in January, with his former club Marseille now set to make a big move for his signature this month.
It is reported by L’Equipe that Marseille are hopeful of bringing him back in a deal worth up to €40 million (£34 million).
Of course he recently admitted he would want to play for Marseille yet again.

The Frenchman was speaking to SFR Sport in France when he confirmed he would be tempted with a move back to his former club Marseille and that he would not be closing the door on any future potential move away from West Ham.
Marseille have money at present and are said to be looking into the signature of their former star.
The same report also commented on Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in the player.

It claims PSG did consider a move for the player in the summer after his excellent Euro 2016 with France. However, they decided to back Hatem Ben Arfa’s ability to shine at the club whilst West Ham were clear in their decision that Payet was not for sale.
This January the West Ham hierarchy will undoubtedly have a big decision to make regarding the French winger – who is attracting plenty of interest.
