West Ham United and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian.
According to a report from Italian media outlet CalcioNews24, Chelsea are set to submit an improved offer to Lazio for the services of Felipe Anderson, in what will be concerning news for West Ham.
The Hammers are reportedly in talks to sign the Brazilian ace, according to Sky Sports, although they are reluctant to meet Lazio’s £44 million valuation of the player.
Anderson was in fine form for his club last season, chalking up eight goals and 10 assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
His fine performances did not go unnoticed, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs thought to be chasing his signature.
West Ham were reportedly leading the race to sign the 25-year-old, but CalcioNews24 claim this morning that Chelsea are preparing an improved offer for the Lazio ace.
Unfortunately for the Hammers, there is no way that they will be able to compete financially with the Blues, and the only real advantage that they have over their London rivals is the fact that they can offer Anderson the guarantee of first-team football.
Much will depend on the player’s ambition, but if Chelsea are intent on signing him, West Ham’s hopes of snaring the Brazilian seem to be fading by the day.
