Roberts has struggled in Spain since choosing to join Girona over Celtic.

Patrick Roberts has told Spanish outlet TV3 that he will remain with Spanish side Girona until the end of the season, despite the Celtic favourite being linked with an early return to Manchester City.
Roberts, 21, chose to ignore a return to Celtic in the summer after spending two and a half years on loan with the Scottish champions from Manchester City, in order to try something new.
Despite being linked with Premier League sides, the England youth international opted to move to Spain with City’s feeder club Girona who are currently playing in the top tier of Spanish football.
Rumours have suggested that former Fulham winger Roberts could return to Manchester City in January, which may give Celtic the chance to re-sign him. However, he has told media that he will remain at Girona until the end of the season.
“He assured us he will remain at Girona and is ignoring the rumours that have arisen about a possible move in January,” Spanish media outlet TV3 reported.
Roberts helped Celtic win their last three Scottish Premiership titles, appearing 78 times in green and white. In that time, he scored 18 goals and created another 26 assists.

The Express claimed in May that West Ham United and Leicester City were interested in Roberts, who was valued at £15million. It remains to be seen if he will improve his game time in Spain.
Roberts has been afforded just 260 minutes of football with Girona, starting only two of those appearances against Valencia and Leganes.
