Josh King has been speaking to VG about an upcoming summer football event in Norway, which Liverpool coach John Achterberg is involved in.
The 50-year-old – who works in the goalkeeping department under Jürgen Klopp – has surprisingly infuriated the Watford forward.
What’s the story?
Well, Achterberg is said to be one of the main attractions of the event, although King has criticised the arrangement.
Children hoping to attend the event will have to pay 3350 kroner (£288) to attend, which the Watford man feels is “pure greed” from the organisers – that doesn’t even cover food or drink!
Speaking to VG, the £45,000-a-week Hornets striker said: “This is pure greed! There’s not an explanation in the world that can make me understand that price for two days.
“120 children and a goalkeeping coach from Liverpool? I think this is a bad signal for developments in Norwegian football. That’s not how you bring out talent.”
Clearly, King doesn’t approve of what Achterberg is getting himself into.
In our view, that doesn’t line up with the values of Liverpool.

The city of Liverpool is a working class, humble area, who do not like to exploit one another, or anyone for that matter.
Therefore, we can’t imagine the Anfield faithful will be too pleased with Achterberg after hearing what he’s involved in.
Watford and Liverpool should help
Clearly, King feels strongly about this, so why not help out?
As aforesaid, the Norwegian earns £45,000-a-week, so he has the ability to provide these children with an invaluable footballing education if he chooses to do so.
If not, then Liverpool could also offer to help.

Of course, it’s not really their business, although COVID-19 has surely devastated some Norwegian families who may have liked to send their children to the event, so it would be a nice thing to do.
Hopefully, a more affordable arrangement can be found.
