Chelsea are starting to get into form, and one of the main reasons behind that is the performance of Raheem Sterling.

Raheem Sterling did not have a very good campaign on a personal level for Chelsea last season.

The England international scored six goals and gave three assists in 23 Premier League starts and five substitute appearances in the league last season.

Sterling, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, was not particularly great in the opening weeks of this season either.

However, the £325,000-a-week (Spotrac) England international is now starting to look more and more like his old self at Manchester City.

Chelsea beat Burnley 4-1 away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League this past weekend.

The 28-year-old played his role in the other three.

Sterling’s cross saw Ameen Al-Dakhil score an own goal.

It was the Englishman who then won the penalty in the second half that Cole Palmer tucked away.

Sterling also made a telling contribution to Nicolas Jackson’s goal.

And, former Newcastle United striker and BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer was impressed.

Shearer has included Sterling in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The pundit wrote about Sterling on PremierLeague.com: “Looked back to his very best. It’s no surprise he was at the heart of Chelsea’s impressive win.”

Sterling has made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Chelsea so far this season.

The attacker has scored three goals in those games.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with 11 points from eight matches, six points behind Liverpool in fourth.
