Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed at his press conference, which was broadcast on the club’s official Youtube channel, that Naby Keita is now very close to returning from injury.
Keita has not featured for Liverpool since the middle of December.
However, it seems that the 25-year-old could be fit and available to be picked in the near future, even though he won’t feature for Liverpool in their FA Cup game against Aston Villa tomorrow evening.
“Back soon, yes. But not for the Villa game,” Klopp said.
Keita’s return for Liverpool will be a boost, but the Guinean still needs to prove that he can stay fit for a concerted period.
When Keita is available he always offers an injection of quality and creativity into Liverpool’s midfield, but his tendency to pick up injury problems is a cause of frustration.

If Keita is back ‘soon’ as Klopp suggests he could now be fit enough to return against Manchester United in two weekends’ time.
With Keita absent, Liverpool are expected to name a fairly youthful side against Villa in the FA Cup tomorrow.
