Paul Merson has predicted on SportsKeeda that Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa will win against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United this week.

Villa will take on Leeds at Villa Park in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

Former Villa star and Sky Sports pundit Merson believes the the Villans will pick up all three points from the encounter against the Whites courtesy of a 3-1 win.

The Englishman believes that Leeds are back in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season following their defeat to Newcastle United.

Paul Merson predicts Aston Villa v Leeds United

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “Leeds won a few Premier League games last month but they lost to Newcastle all of a sudden.

“They’re back in danger now and they need a couple of wins. I don’t think they’re going to get one here.

“Aston Villa have been playing well with Steven Gerrard at the helm. They’ve made quality additions to their squad in the transfer window and hold the upper hand against Leeds this week.”

Who will win at Villa Park?

In our view, Villa will head into the match against Leeds as favourites.

As Merson notes, Gerrard is doing extremely well as the manager of the Villans, who could end the season in the top half of the table.

Leeds have had injury problems, and there is still a chance that they could finish in the Premier League bottom three.

Villa are at home as well for the match, and, in our opinion, the Villans are likely to emerge victorious at Villa Park on Wednesday evening.
