Arsenal have just confirmed a big injury boost, via their official website.
The Gunners visit Burnley tomorrow and it looks like Mikel Arteta might have Emile Smith Rowe available.
The 20-year-old midfielder has made a huge difference to Arsenal’s season since breaking into Arteta’s senior plans in December.
He suffered an injury in the win away to Leicester City last weekend, but the North Londoners have just revealed that it isn’t a ‘significant’ issue and he’ll continue to be assessed.
With Martin Odegaard still getting up to speed with English football, Arsenal can’t afford an injury to Smith Rowe.
But it looks like they’ve avoided one and here’s how fans of the Emirates Stadium club reacted to the update:
Arteta could and probably should rest him nonetheless.
Arsenal have a Europa League clash with Olympiacos on the horizon and the Spanish manager needs his best players available for that one.
Winning that competition is very much the North Londoners’ priority this season and given how influential Smith Rowe has been in the Premier League since December, he certainly qualifies as a first-team for Arteta.
