Newcastle United drew 1-1 at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Newcastle United made it three games without defeat on Saturday evening, as they drew 1-1 away at Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Magpies were already safe as they made the trip down to the South Coast, and were looking to finish the season strongly against a Brighton side desperate for points.
Ayoze Perez continued his fine run with the opening goal, as Paul Dummett’s clipped cross was knocked down by Salomon Rondon, with Perez slamming a half-volley into the net.
Newcastle held their lead for almost an hour, but were hit when Glenn Murray’s flick-on was converted by Pascal Gross, drawing the Seagulls level.
Brighton had a chance to secure their Premier League status, but Murray missed a golden chance, meaning they’re not quite over the line just yet, but hold a four point advantage over Cardiff City.
Perez’s goal was his eighth in his last 10 games, his third game in a row with a goal and built on his hat-trick against Southampton last week, taking his season tally to 11 goals.

The Spaniard is enjoying a superb second half of the season, but has taken to Twitter to admit that he felt Saturday’s game was a ‘strange match’.
That’s because whilst Perez scored, he’s admitted he wasn’t happy with the result, and has some pain in his hip which may keep him out against Liverpool next weekend if he isn’t careful, which will worry Newcastle fans having already lost Miguel Almiron to a season-ending injury.
