The Spaniard chose to join Newcastle United over Roma back in the summer of 2014.

Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez sat down for an exclusive interview with Spanish Radio station Club Deportivo, and responded to a question asking him whether he regrets his decision to join the Magpies rather than Roma or Porto way back in 2014, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old moved to St James’ Park from Tenerife in the summer of 2014, for a fee that could potentially rise to £2 million, and despite experiencing difficulties in adjusting to the Premier League, he has established himself as a fan favourite on Tyneside.

Perez has chipped in with just six goals and four assists in 31 appearances in all competitions for the Toon this season, although he has scored back-to-back winners for his side in their last two games.
The Spaniard spoke exclusively to Club Deportivo, and responded when asked if he regretted joining Newcastle over Roma four years ago, as quoted by the Daily Mail:

“I made the right choice; I have grown a lot as a player in England. I have some unforgettable experiences but hopefully I’m only just getting started. I have matured a lot as a footballer mentally, physically, tactically and Newcastle lives and breathes football. Everything revolves around what the team is doing and everyone looks forward to the game at the weekend. That always struck me right from the beginning. I’ve enjoyed it since the first day.”
Next up for Rafa Benitez’s side is a huge home game against Arsenal on Sunday, and Perez will be looking to help his side cement their place inside the top half of the Premier League table by scoring for a third consecutive game.
