The Newcastle forward has congratulated his young team-mate on social media.
Ayoze Perez has congratulated Rolando Aarons on Twitter after the Newcastle United youngster was called up to the England Under-21 squad.
Perez praised the winger and feels his call-up is thoroughly deserved.
Aarons has been known for his talent for some time but is yet to produce a consistent run of brilliance that dazzles crowds on Tyneside, while he has also suffered from injury problems.
As for matters at St James’ Park, Newcastle face a huge Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.
Every Tyne-Wear derby is huge and every one seems to produce the same outcome for the struggling Magpies.
But this one really is do or die. A Sunderland win would put the Black Cats four points clear of Newcastle and, therefore, take Newcastle to four points off safety.
A win, however, would obviously have the reverse effect and take Rafa Benitez’s men outside the relegation zone. Can Perez, Aarons and co deliver if called upon by their new manager this weekend?
