Newcastle’s business in the transfer market has stepped up a notch this week.

Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez has posted on Twitter after The Toon completed the re-signing of Chelsea flyer Kenedy on loan, before offloading midfielder Mikel Merino.
Brazil youth international Kenedy rejoins Rafa Benitez’s side on loan until the end of the season from Chelsea, after making 13 appearances for The Magpies during the second half of last season.

He scored two goals and laid on another two assists to help Newcastle reach the dizzying heights of tenth place, and will be a huge asset to Benitez’s squad next season. Spanish midfielder Merino, though, has joined Real Sociedad.
Merino, 22, struggled to recover from a back injury suffered around the Christmas period, with Mo Diame’s form subsequently keeping him out of the team. Perez, 24, reacted on Twitter, by posting: “This is what football is all about.”
Kenedy becomes Newcastle’s third summer signing, after the club completed a permanent deal for Martin Dubravka from Sparta Prague in a transfer worth £4million. Newcastle have also signed Ki Sung-yueng from Swanse City on a free.
Newcastle are currently in Ireland undergoing a training camp, where they will face St. Patrick’s Athletic on July 17, before returning to Tyneside. They have also scheduled friendlies against Hull City, FC Porto and Augsburg.
