Ayoze Perez scored a hat-trick for Newcastle United against Southampton at the weekend.
Newcastle United attacking player Ayoze Perez has suggested to The Mirror that he could leave the club in the summer transfer window.
Perez, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, made the comments following his hat-trick against Southampton at St. James’ Park in the Premier League at the weekend.
The 25-year-old Spaniard has said that there will be options for him to leave at the end of the season, and he has suggested that he could be open to parting company with the Premier League club.
Perez told The Mirror: “In the summer, there are going to be options. That means I have done something well.
“I’ll be up for hearing what is coming, but it doesn’t mean I am going to leave 100 per cent at the end of the season. It is going to be a difficult decision and depends on a lot of things.”
Shock comments
Perez is a very good player, and his aforementioned comments will come as a shock to many Newcastle fans, especially as he made them after scoring a hat-trick against Southampton.
The former Spain Under-21 international may not have always led the line for the Magpies, but he has been an important player for Newcastle over the years.
According to WhoScored, the attacker has made 31 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle this season, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in the process.
