Newcastle United will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Championship tonight as they take on Norwich City at St James Park.
Newcastle United’s Ayoze Perez
In an exclusive interview with Spanish media outlet El Dorsal, Newcastle forward Ayoze Pérez explained how he feels indebted to the club’s fans, and how he wants to help the Magpies return to the Premier League.
The 23-year-old Spaniard was linked with a whole host of major European clubs over the summer, including La Liga giants Barcelona (the Sun), but he ended up staying at St James’ Park, and has gone on to appear in eight of Newcastle’s nine Championship games this term.

Perez described his relationship with the Toon Army, when speaking exclusively to El Dorsal:
“The fans have always been very close, they always thanked me to have stayed. Despite the interest that there was from big clubs to sign me, I have a debt with the fans, I want to return to the Premier League with Newcastle.”
The Spaniard refused to commit his future to the club, however, if they fail to gain promotion this season:
“I don’t think of it because I trust in the return to the Premier League. I see the team able to return, but in any case I’d have to see, under the circumstances, if I would have to take some important decision about my future.”

Perez joined Newcastle two years ago from Spanish side Tenerife, and has gone on to score 14 goals in 78 league outings for the club.
Rafa Benitez’ men take on Norwich tonight in what will be a huge game for both sides psychologically, and a win for the Magpies could see them rise to third in the table, and move within a point of the Canaries in second.
