Aston Villa and Newcastle United will have to pay £5 million for this season if they are to sign Axel Tuanzebe from Manchester United, according to The Sun.
What’s the story?
Newcastle and Villa want to sign Tuanzebe on loan from Premier League rivals United in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils could let the 23-year-old central defender leave on loan.
However, the Premier League giants want £5 million for a deal to happen.
That includes the defender’s wages for this season and a loan fee.
Bargain for Newcastle or Aston Villa?
Newcastle manager Steve Bruce and Villa boss Dean Smith both know Tuanzebe well and have worked with him.
Bruce worked with the defender during his loan spell at Villa, and so did Smith.
In fact, Smith called the 23-year-old “terrific” in November 2019, as quoted in TribalFootball.

United not willing to sell Tuanzebe this summer shows that they rate him highly.
For a £5 million outlay, it could be prove to be a bargain deal for Villa or Newcastle.
It will be interesting to see which club win the race for Tuanzebe.
Villa could be challenging for the Europa League places in the Premier League table next season.
