El Ghazi has been a shining in light in Villa’s recent poor performances.
Axel Tuanzebe has told Aston Villa’s official website that he has been impressed by Anwar El Ghazi’s attitude and character since the winger joined the club on loan from French side Lille.
El Ghazi, 23, joined the Midlands club towards the end of August and the two-time Holland international has impressed in his two appearances for Steve Bruce’s side – despite the club losing both matches.
Villa were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Burton Albion, before losing to Sheffield United 4-1. El Ghazi scored Villa’s only goal in the loss to the Blades at Bramall Lane.
Tuanzebe, who also joined Villa this summer on loan from Manchester United, was full of praise for El Ghazi after his strong start to life in the Midlands, claiming his character off the pitch is exemplary.
“He has so much flair on the ball. He is two footed, he can go either way. He also works for the team too. He puts the work in for the team,” Tuanzebe said.
“I like him as a personality too. He is a very humble lad. He has a great attitude and character. He will succeed here, I’m sure. I am confident his performance levels will keep growing the more he plays in this league.”
El Ghazi joined Lille in January 2017, and scored six goals in 44 games for the French side after impressing at boyhood club Ajax where he broke through the ranks to make 99 appearances.
He is expected to start next time out, as Villa go up against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park with Bruce looking to put a run of five games without a win behind them.
