
It’s no secret that Liverpool have had their fair share of injuries this season.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez haven’t kicked a ball since October and may not again until the 2021-22 campaign, Diogo Jota has missed three months of his first season at Anfield and Naby Keita has been Naby Keita for most of the year.
The word ‘curse’ might be a little strong regarding Liverpool’s problems, but it has been an unprecedented run of bad luck for Jurgen Klopp’s side as far as injuries go.
And now another player – albeit a non-senior one – looks to have suffered a horrible one.
Layton Stewart started for Liverpool Under-23s in their 1-1 draw with West Ham United on Saturday.
But the 18-year-old attacker suffered a knee injury during the game following an awkward landing and required oxygen before being stretchered off the field.
Stewart looked to be in a world of pain and it was a tough watch when you consider the lad is still only a teenager.
