Speaking on The Overlap, Gary Neville has been discussing the idea of Leeds United re-hiring Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager to replace Jesse Marsch.
The Whites are searching for a new gaffer after sacking Marsch, and there have been some reports that they’re considering going back to Bielsa.
However, Neville is of the opinion that this would be something of a disaster, stating that the Yorkshire club were shocking towards the end of the Argentine’s tenure at the club.

Neville says Leeds can’t go back
The pundit gave his verdict on the idea of Bielsa returning.
“You can’t, you can’t go back to Bielsa,” Neville said.
“I thought Leeds were carnage at the end under Bielsa. I thought they were shocking.”
“It was the man-to-man marking, that’s what looked awful.”
Rose-tinted glasses
Leeds may well be tempted to bring Bielsa back, but they can’t look at this situation through rose-tinted glasses.
As Neville says, the club was in disarray by the time Bielsa was sacked, and he’d be returning to a weaker squad that isn’t built in his image anymore.
Indeed, Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha have both gone, and Leeds have replaced them with players who were brought in to play for Jesse Marsch as a number of American recruits and signings from the Red Bull stable have arrived.
Bielsa may be a great manager, but he’s already struggled with this team recently, and re-appointing him would be a big risk.
Neville is right, bringing Bielsa back at this point in time would be nothing but a step backwards from Leeds United.
