It looks like Tottenham Hotspur may be selling Juan Foyth during the summer transfer window.
Foyth has been on loan at Villarreal for the whole 2020-21 campaign and seems to have impressed under former Arsenal boss Unai Emery.
A lot of Spurs fans were impressed by his performance in knocking the Gunners out of the Europa League and many were calling on him to be involved next season.
But The Telegraph has reported that the Spanish club will activate their £15 million option to sign him on a permanent basis.
Tottenham only signed him for £8 million in the summer of 2017 so they will still make a profit if he does leave for the reported figure.
But still, some fans of the North London club aren’t happy.
Let’s not pretend Foyth was ripping things up prior to being loaned out.
Actually, the fact that he was loaned out in the first place indicates that he wasn’t cutting it in England, which he wasn’t and Jose Mourinho barely played him at Tottenham.
But then again, we’re still talking about a 23-year-old – and one who’s been capped by Argentina.
He’s capable of getting a lot better and it’s very possible that Spurs’ £15 million will be considered absolute peanuts in comparison to what he’s worth if he ever gets a big move away from Villarreal.
