Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT (4:43pm, February 6, 2023) that it would be “awful” if Carlos Corberan left West Bromwich Albion to replace Jesse Marsch at Leeds United.

Leeds are on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Marsch yesterday.

Corberan is a candidate for the Leeds managerial job, according to The Daily Mail.

90min have also named the Spaniard as a candidate for the Whites.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Bent has suggested that Corberan should not leave West Brom for Leeds now.

Darren Bent on Carlos Corberan to Leeds United rumour

Bent said: “That would be awful, if he did that. If he left West Brom after just getting the job, getting them out of the fire, getting them on the verge of the playoffs, to leave them now.”

What should Carlos Corberan do?

In our view, it is going to be tough for Carlos Corberan to make a decision on his future if Leeds United do come calling.

Now, West Bromwich Albion are doing well under the 39-year-old.

The Baggies are very much in the race for the Championship playoffs this season.

Corberan guided Huddersfield Town to the Championship playoff final last season.

Who knows, this season he could take West Brom to Premier League promotion.

However, Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England, and it would be an honour for any manager to take charge of the Whites.

Leaving the Baggies for the West Yorkshire club would be a step-up for Corberan, who worked at Leeds as the Under-23 manager and as a first-team coach.
