Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season from his side. The Toffees have won each of their seven games in all competitions and are top of the Premier League table.
New signings have certainly raised the squad’s confidence and Everton look as strong as they have ever been in the Premier League.
Ancelotti’s biggest test of the season, however, is only days away. The Toffees host fierce rivals Liverpool on Saturday and, thankfully for Everton, three key players are likely to return to action, as Ancelotti revealed on Everton TV.
Allan, Gomes and Coleman will be available on Saturday
He said: “Andre Gomes is available for Saturday, no problem. Allan started to train with the team this week.
“If nothing happens in the next few days he will be available to play against Liverpool. I think Seamus (Coleman) is going to be good, too, because he started to train with us on Monday.”
Gomes and Allan missed Everton’s win over Brighton before the international break. Coleman, on the other hand, started the game but was substituted just before the hour mark because of a thigh problem.
All three are likely to be back in action and that’s a massive boost for Everton. Gomes and Allan have a ton of experience playing in big matches, while Coleman is the leader the Toffees need in a derby.

Liverpool are usually favourites going into a Merseyside derby but the mood around both clubs is very different at the moment. Everton are on a massive high while the Reds are recovering from a humiliating defeat at the hands of Aston Villa before the break.
The defending Premier League champions will do everything they can to redeem themselves this weekend, but Everton will be a difficult and dangerous opponent.
With James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in fine form, and with the return of Allan and Gomes, Everton should be confident of putting one over their rivals on Saturday.
