The Frenchman is the ideal long-term replacement for Gareth Barry at Everton.
Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has already been extremely active during this summer’s transfer window, but it could be argued that he needs to strengthen further still, if he is to build a squad capable of making a sustained push for a place inside the top four of the Premier League table.
One particular area where the Dutchman needs to address is central midfield, and more specifically the deep-lying role currently occupied by the ageing Gareth Barry.
The 36-year-old will of course be difficult to replace, what with his immense experience and quality, but there is plenty of talent out there available for Everton to consider.

And one of those options is PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who is available for just £20 million this summer, according to Italian media outlet Transfer Market Web.
The 22-year-old Frenchman is a classy operator, and is technically brilliant, as well as playing with a certain kind of discipline that would make him the ideal Barry replacement. He is also left-footed, which means he would be able to offer the same balance to the Blues side as the Englishman.
Rabiot’s magnificent array of passing would undoubtedly help the Toffees improve upon the fluidity of their play, and he would be the perfect foil for Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye in the middle of the park.
And with his potential availability being reported, Koeman should not hesitate to bring him to Goodison Park before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month.
