Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with a move for Power, but should Sheffield United rival their near neighbours to the Wigan man’s signature?
Sheffield United remain interested in Southend midfielder Ryan Leonard, even after last week’s capture of John Lundstram from Oxford, Blades assistant Alan Knill has revealed.
But with little movement apparent on that front, should Sheffield United turn their attention to another League One engine roomer, Max Power, who is available at £500,000 according to The Daily Mail?

The Independent reports the Blades have already bid that amount for Leonard, who is a year older than Power and has a year’s less experience above England’s third tier, but to no avail.
Power was a regular for Wigan last season, appearing in all but one of the Latics’ fixtures as they were relegated back to League One only 12 months after they stormed to the title with the 24-year-old a key cog in their success.
Nevertheless, according to The Daily Mail, his performances were good enough to catch the eye of Glasgow Rangers and Cardiff City, as well as Sheffield United’s fierce rivals, Sheffield Wednesday – which would be another incentive for the Blades to pounce.
And considering he would have Kieran Lee, Barry Bannan, Sam Hutchinson, David Jones and Almen Abdi for company at Hillsborough, a move to Bramall Lane, where the competition would perhaps be less fierce, could be attractive to Power.
