Available for £3.5m, West Brom signing Ahmed Hegazi permanently is surely no-brainer

West Bromwich Albion can reportedly make Ahmed Hegazi’s loan deal permanent for just £3.5 million.

With transfer fees becoming more and more ridiculous with every passing window, the Premier League sides with smaller budgets will know that they face a tougher task trying to find the kind of value in the market that will help them keep in touch with the big-spenders in the division.

West Brom certainly do not have the budget that the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United boast, so surely it is fair to say that the fact that they could complete a permanent deal for Ahmed Hegazi for a seven-figure fee makes pursuing such a move a no-brainer for Tony Pulis.

According to the Express and Star, Hegazi – who is on loan from Al Ahly – could become a West Brom player permanently if the Baggies pay just £3.5 million.

Though the Egyptian has not made a flawless start to life at The Hawthorns – he committed a howler that led to the equaliser in the draw with Stoke back in August – he has been impressive, especially when you consider that he arrived in the summer with only a very small amount of experience of playing in Europe.

That would suggest that he has the potential to get even better the longer he spends in the Premier League, playing alongside the likes of Jonny Evans and the rest of the West Brom backline.

And if West Brom do take up the permanent option and Hegazi does continue to get better, then Pulis will surely be able to reflect on a brilliant piece of business, as it will allow the Baggies to land a very good player while leaving more than enough in the kitty for other areas of the squad to be strengthened.
