
Some Liverpool fans on social media have been reacting after the Daily Mail credited them with an interest in Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard.
With just days to go in the transfer window, the Mail were running through each Premier League club, looking at what they want to do and which players they could look at.
The section about Liverpool’s plans had two surprising names in it, with David Marshall, a 36-year-old goalkeeper, and Damsgaard a promising young winger.
You wouldn’t blame any Liverpool supporter for not being enthused about Marshall, but it seems as though many fans are keen to see Damsgaard brought in.
The Dane was one of the stars of Euro 2020, most notably netting a cracking free-kick against England, and at his age, he has a lot of room to grow.
Liverpool supporters are very excited after hearing he’s a player they like, and while a deal may not come to fruition, it’s great to see these types of players are on the Reds’ radar.
